Who Will I Talk to When I Have a Question? How Balance Real Estate Group Keeps You Covered

When you work with my team, you will always have one main point of contact, the agent who takes you through your sale or purchase from start to finish, and you will also always have me as a second point of contact outside of that relationship. You are never relying on a single person being available every single day, and you are never starting from scratch if you need to reach someone while your main agent is briefly unavailable.

This question comes up more than people expect, usually from someone who has had a frustrating experience with a solo agent in the past, the kind where a single missed call turned into days of silence during an already stressful transaction, especially for someone also carrying the emotional weight of selling a family home at the same time. At Balance Real Estate Group, every client is assigned a main agent, often Kara Berman or Rachael Halatsis depending on the file, and I stay involved as a second contact throughout the process. If your agent is away for a day or dealing with something urgent on another file, I am usually the one who steps in. If I am the one who is away, the team takes turns covering for each other, with Kara overseeing that coverage so nothing falls through.

What actually makes this work day to day is less about personalities and more about how we keep track of everything behind the scenes. Every call, every email, and every text with a client goes into one shared system our whole team uses, so if someone other than your usual agent needs to step in, they can see the full history of your file instead of asking you to repeat everything from the beginning. That detail matters more than people realize until they experience the alternative, explaining your situation for the third time to someone who clearly has no idea what has already been discussed.

I think a lot of people assume a team means less personal attention, when in practice it usually means the opposite. A solo agent working alone has no backup. If they are sick, on vacation, or simply slammed with other clients, you wait. With a team, there is always someone who can pick up a question, check on a showing, or follow up on an offer, because the information is already there waiting for them. You are not losing the personal relationship with your main agent. You are just not depending on that one relationship being available every single moment of a process that often moves fast and unevenly, whether you are buying your first place in Langley or getting ready to sell after decades in Cloverdale.

This structure also shows up in smaller, quieter ways throughout a transaction. Sellers review their own listing write up before it goes live, so nothing goes out that does not sound like them or represent their home accurately. Buyers get a plain explanation of what is actually on title, not just a document handed over and left for them to decode alone. These are not flashy details, but they are the kind of thing that only happens consistently when a team is actually communicating with each other behind the scenes, not just sharing an office. It matters just as much whether you are buying your very first home or working through what the empty nest does to your sense of home later in life.

If you are choosing between working with an individual agent or a team for your next move, it is worth asking directly who you will talk to if your main contact is unavailable, and how that person will know what is already happening on your file. Those two questions usually tell you everything you need to know about how a team actually works, not just how it is described in a listing presentation.

I am Bettina Reid, and I lead a team of women at Balance Real Estate Group built specifically so no client is ever stuck waiting because one person is unreachable. If you are just starting to figure out where you stand, the first step is understanding your position, not deciding anything right away, and that is exactly what my team and I are here to walk you through.
