We wnat to wish all the Moms in our lives...clients, friends and family as well as all the other Moms out there a very Happy Mothers Day. Hopefuly you have a wonderful day with your family making memories to cherish for years to come. 

There are a lot of new and exciting things to come for the Bettina Reid Group over the next couple months. The first of which is a new addition, we are proud to be growing again and welcome Gurjit Liddar to our team! Kara, Erinn, Lisa and I are all looking forward to working together.

Here is a little bit about Gurjit:

My name is Gurjit Liddar I was born in England and emigrated to Canada in 2009.  This whole experience has been amazing for myself and my family. This was a dream come true, coming into a country where you can view beautiful mountains from your home. 

I love helping and serving the community and what a great way to do this by helping our clients find their prefect home, just like we did when we moved here. This is when I found a passion in Real Estate. 

When I told my daughter about my new real estate career, she made a slogan for me:

 “ Let me take you through a journey in finding your dream home !”

Becoming a realtor is one of the most rewarding careers I ever had. Watching client's smile with joy as you hand over the keys to their perfect home,  makes you feel you have achieved one of the most important things in life. 

I have brought many smiles to clients as they enter either in their First Home or moving into their next stage of life. 

Recently, I had a great opportunity when I was asked to join Bettina Reid, Kara Berman and Erinn Mate.  This hard working dedicated team who achieved the Top 10% of Realtor Award with the Fraser Valley Real Estate Board for 2013, 2014, 2015 and 2016. For 2017 they are now in the top 1% of all Fraser Valley Realtor,  I sure did not want to miss out on this opportunity. 

Real Estate has become my passion and goal, so when you connect with me I am not just your Realtor but a friend for LIFE! 

Turns out the house had its power back on and I didn't need my flash light. Boring!

The Lunar New Year is another name for what is known as Chinese New Year and 2017 is the year of the Rooster. It starts today and will last until the Lantern Festival on February 15th. Every year represents a different animal in a cycle of 12 years which make up the Chinese Zodiac. Each animal comprises one the five elements: wood, water, metal, fire and earth. 

This year of the rooster is supposed to be the year of Fire. It is the 10th animal in the cycle. The Chinese culture believe each animal and their elements affect what the year will bring to each of us.

Chinese New Year celebrations will be happening all over the world over the next of the few days.

Well the whole month of December has pretty much felt like winter already....but today winter has officially arrived and all of us at the Bettina Reid Group wanted to wish you a safe and Happy Winter!

Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver

To celebrate the holidays and our amazing year we stayed downtown last Saturday night at the Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver. When we arrived in the pouring rain to the Sutton Place Hotel Vancouver we entered a stunning lobby all decked out for the holidays. We wanted to share just how beautiful the displays were. 

CinCin

From there we were off to dinner at CinCin a wood fired Italian Cucina. Where we had the most amazing meal from start to finish. Our server did a fantastic job, as did the entire staff. If you are ever looking for a good Italian restaurant, we wouldn't hesitate to recommend CinCin. We have never had a bad experience there and this time was no exception! From the chef accomodating our request for burrata with just greens to ensuring we were all very well taken care of. Just about every one of us had something different and every dish was savoured where everyone finished their meals wanting to rewind and start all over again.

Happy Thanksgiving to all of our American friends and their families from all of us at The Bettina Reid Group. We hope you get to spend some quality time making special memories.

I came back from a week in Ontario last week visiting family and friends while my husband worked. Having grown up in Ontario, every time we have visited in the past it has always been like going home. This time it has been 6 years since our last visit and for the first time we realized it truly isn't home anymore. We are definitely west coasters now. Just like my bio says there really is no better place than having the mountains and the ocean in our back yard. Unfortunately, there are no mountains across the skyline in Ontario and the closest thing to an ocean are the great lakes. 

While visiting, the weather went from unseasonably warm to fall cold weather for our last 2 days. Drastic changes in weather are definitely not something we miss. Thankful we flew home before the snow hit and yes it did hit less than a week later in some areas. 

Now don't get me wrong Ontario has a lot to offer. My sisters and some of our closest friends are probably the biggest reason for us to stay connected with Ontario. Then there's the restaurants...Staying downtown Toronto I had dozens of choices for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Which is probably the second thing we miss the most...there are lots of chain restaurants here in BC. But not enough good quality restaurants to choose from here in the lower mainland and fraser valley. 

We were a little too early for the peak of the Fall colours which was always one of our favourite things about fall in Ontario. The colours in BC just don't compare. But we managed to find a little.

The other thing we love about Ontario, there's no other place in Canada that has an amusement park to rival Disney like Canada's Wonderland. 

So Ontario even though you are no longer home...we will be back to visit!

Every year we send out our Colouring Contests at Easter and Halloween and we always look forward to receiving the entries. Each year the number of entries grow and there are always so many that we would love to choose as the winner. But unfortunately we can only pick one from each age group. We always want to share everyone's masterpiece and finally found a way that we can. So we will share every one of our entries over a few blogs this week. Stay tuned for our winners once they have picked up their prize, we will post them for all to see!

We hope everyone had a Happy and safe Halloween!!!

We are so proud of Holly, the daughter of one of our team members -  Lisa Speers as she made History this past weekend. She not only got 5 home runs in her last 5 at bats, but beat the former record of 4 and gaining the NCAA Division record of most consecutive home runs. What an amazing accomplishment. Not to mention one of those home runs was a grand slam. 

Holly plays short stop for Kent State University and to top off a great opening weekend earlier today she was named National Player of the Week by both the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) and USA Softball after already being named Mid-American Conference East Division Player of the Week yesterday.

It has been such a pleasure to watch Holly grow up. Having first met her when my husband coached her and my daughters soccer team. She has always been a strong athlete and has worked really hard to get to where she has gotten. We are all very proud of her and are honoured to say we knew her when... :)
