Day 4 of Insanity

Well so far we have survived! Very impressed each day we make it through another workout. I can finally walk up and down the stairs without cringing. I haven't felt old until this week. LOL

I used to do the TaeBo VHS tapes...way back when. Which I know dates me right there. I would feel the burn but recovered so much faster than this. :)

I figured today was a good day to report...today's workout was a cardio recovery day full of stretches that I am sure loosened us up. Doesn't mean it was an easy day, but definitely not an insane day. Now, after tomorrow I might not feel as good as I do today as it looks like we will be working out at the highest level of intensity.

I knew I wasn't in tip top shape, but I really didn't think I was in this bad of shape. I also thought I ate a fairly healthy diet and realized yesterday just how important getting enough and the right balance is. As we both crashed in the afternoon. Counting calories and making sure we are getting enough of everything is a science all on its own. I don't like the idea of counting calories, although I am sure by the time we are done that we should have a much better understanding of what our body needs.

For those of you brave enough to join the challenge with us click on the following details for more information on how to get started. :) Now I am off to bed to rest for another early morning of insanity!

Pacific Commuter launches today

I came across this today and thought what a great idea. I truly believe in doing whatever you can to boost your quality of life and finding an alternative to driving in traffic 5 days a week is exactly the reason the founders -  Chris and Darian started up Pacific Commuter.  They are launching their company today and offering Langley and Cloverdale residents a much more relaxing way to get to work in Vancouver. You can spend the same amount of money on gas and parking every month as you can for a ride like this. But with this you will gain the time to finish off your day's work before getting home or just relaxing enjoy the ride.

Take a look at what the inside of this Pacific Commuter luxury coach looks like.

Insanity

My husband came to me a few weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in doing this workout he'd come across. I foolishly agreed...:) out of support for him wanting to make a healthy choice in his life to get fit. I am very proud to be doing this with him and at least we can trudge through this together.

Today is day 1 of the Insanity workout and really it was just the fitness testing day to give us a base to go on as we go through the next few weeks. The intensity wasn't anywhere near what tomorrow and every other day going forward is going to be like and we were dying...lol

I promise not to blog about this everyday but will update every few days on our progress or at least share just how crazy we are... :)

I truly do think we are insane!

In case you are too....visit their website to see how you too can take the challenge!

Loonie turns 25 today!

I can't believe the loonie is 25 years old. 25 years ago today the Royal Canadian Mint introduced it and to think our children have never known any different.

What is interesting is that the only reason the loonie became a loonie as we all know it, is because of the Loon depicted on the coin. But it wasn't the original plan and had the original plans not been lost in transit on the way to the mint in Winnipeg, we wouldn't have the loonie, although not too sure what we would have called the coin. Loonie just seems to fit, without the loonie we would never have had the toonie either. Funny how things turn out.

Preparing your home for an inspector

We have been quite busy during the 1st half of the year working with a number of Buyers and Sellers. Usually with each offer that is made either on our Sellers property or with our Buyers there comes an inspection. We always recommend to our Buyers that they have their own inspection done by a reputable inspector. This week Gary from A-Z performed another inspection for some of our buyers and shared some great advice for Sellers on how to ensure your home is prepared for a successful inspection. This doesn't mean you can prevent the inspection from coming up with maintenance issues, but it will help the inspector being able to provide a detailed and accurate report to help the Buyers in their decision making when purchasing a re-sale home.

To contact Gary, please visit the following link :www.a-zhomeinspection.com

Preparing your home for a home inspection, a request to the seller:

Please ensure access to:

1: The back yard: make sure to have gates unlocked. And larger animals restrained.

2: Remove items that may be leaning against the structure or blocking the visual sight lines.

3: The crawl space panel if present. Remove stored items from around and on top of hatch.

4: The attic scuttle hatch or door way. Remove shelving and personal items from the area.

5: The main electrical panel and any sub panels. Remove objects covering or blocking.

6: Furnace utility room. Stored items on or near furnace should be removed to allow access to open the panels.

7: Water heater area. Stored items on or near water heater should be removed to allow access to open the panel.

8: Kitchen and bathroom vanities. Please remove stored items to allow inspection of plumbing supply lines and drainage pipes.

9: If there are tenants, make sure they have adequate notice of the inspection.

These simple things will help the inspection process move smoothly and efficiently; as well as offer peace of mind to your buyer that a comprehensive inspection was performed.

Thank you.

Mortgage rules tightening up again.

The federal government once again has decided to implement more changes to prevent Canada from falling into the same situation as the US. This is the 4th time in 4 years they have made changes. The biggest change will be the 30 year amortization down to 25 year for government insured mortgages, as well as dropping the amount you can borrow from the equity in your home from 80% to 85%.

What do you think of these changes?

Who doesn't like to get a rave review!

I wanted to share a very touching email that I received yesterday. Kara and I are very proud to have Anna on our team, she is a delight to work with. And it looks like our clients think so too! :)

Hi Bettina

I just wanted to send you a little note from myself and my family to thank you for
having Anna help us with our purchase in Langley.

She is wonderful.  I could not believe how professional she is and how she listened
to all of our wishes.   I have dealt with many realtors in my life but she is one of a kind.
Always communicating all information as soon as she had it.

Sometimes when the deal is done one never hears from the realtor again but she
still keeps in touch.  We feel that we have made a friend for life and are touched.

Thank you

Rose & Wayne, Carlos & Stacey
