I recently attended Fraser Valley's 1st Real Estate Technology Meet up where a fellow Vancouver Realtor shared his views on marketing today.
An already successful realtor, he went from spending $5000 a month on marketing, to instead spending $500 a month wisely and effectively. He is 100% online and has no print marketing whatsoever. Very impressed! Check him out at www.ianwatt.ca, he is the realtor to contact for condos in Vancouver.

How many of us have walked into a client's home to do a presentation and found our competition's calendar on the fridge or wall? If asked, people say they do not even realize it is a realty calendar, or did not even think of calling that realtor, as they have never heard from them other than to receive the calendar.
If I am doing my job right they will have heard from me previously or have been referred to me by a family, friend or colleague. It is for this reason that I have not done any calendar marketing; I do not believe this is the best way to spend my marketing dollars.
